Our shirts are colored with iron oxide pigments. The pigments come from polluted water flowing from old coal mines in Pennsylvania. This causes the streams to turn rusty colors. These streams are treated passively (no chemicals or energy) and the iron oxide is collected from ponds and wetlands. This pigment is called Environoxide™ and it comes in 3 earth-tone colors.
