BEECH CREEK
The goals of this project were to complete an assessment of mine drainage impacts to the Beech Creek watershed and to formulate a watershed restoration plan. The Beech Creek watershed covers 171 square miles in Centre and Clinton Counties in central Pennsylvania. This project involved reconnaissance of polluted tributaries, identification and monthly sampling of significant discharges, 5 sub-watershed snapshots, and formulation of the restoration plan. This plan identifies eight high priority projects for the watershed. The final plan was presented at the Beech Creek Watershed Association’s June 2006 meeting.
