Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) Program
Through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Trout Unlimited, Inc has received funding to allow free technical assistance grants (TAG) for groups that need help with mine drainage issues. Hedin Environmental is partnering with TU to provide this assistance.
Wanted: Your Mine Drainage Problems!
We can provide several types of assistance related to mine drainage, including rapid evaluation of mine drainage discharges, rapid watershed “snapshots”, mini-assessments, conceptual treatment system designs, evaluation of existing passive treatment systems, and construction oversight for passive treatment systems. We can also talk to your group about the basics of mine drainage and how to empower your community to address mine drainage problems. This assistance is being provided by Trout Unlimited, a nation-wide non-profit group with experience in successful grass-roots efforts that address mine drainage and by Hedin Environmental, leading experts in the mine drainage field.
