Why Organic cotton?

Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. That’s significant since fifty-five million pounds of pesticides were sprayed on the 12.8 million acres of conventional cotton grown in the U.S. in 2003 (4.3 pounds/ acre) (USDA).

In addition, other parts of the cotton plant are used for animal feed and in a variety of food products, so supporting these growers by buying organic cotton may help keep unhealthy chemicals from going in our bodies as well as into our environment.
